Dutch Tax Authority changes bank account number as of 1 May 2026

As of 1 May 2026, the Dutch Tax authority (Belastingdienst) and the Benefits Office (Dienst Toeslagen) will change their bank account number. Due to changing from bank ING to the Rabobank. It is important to be aware of this change to prevent errors and fraud.

Nothing changes until 1 May 2026

Until the transition date, you can continue using the current bank account number of the Dutch Tax Authority. From 1 May 2026, a new bank account number will apply. The Dutch Tax Authority will communicate the new bank account number through official channels, such as:

  • Tax assessments and payment letters
  • Correspondence regarding benefits and allowances
  • The official website of the Dutch Tax Authority

We are doing our utmost to update this new bank account number in all our communications in a timely manner, but advise you to always verify that you are using the correct bank account number before making a payment.

Be aware of fraud

When bank account numbers change, fraudsters sometimes try to exploit the situation. Therefore, always verify payment details through official communication from the Dutch Tax Authority or through your financial advisor.

Did you know you may also receive SMS messages from the Dutch Tax Authority?

The Dutch Tax Authority may send SMS reminders to entrepreneurs, for example regarding VAT returns. Always verify whether such a message is genuine. Check the sender’s number (for example 0800-0543), do not click on links without verification, and confirm messages via Mijn Belastingdienst Zakelijk (My Tax Administration for Businesses).
